The Cromwell Paediatric Centre provides a wide range of paediatric services for children of all ages, including some of the more complex procedures now practised in paediatric medicine and surgery such as paediatric liver transplants. This dedicated Paediatric department is in a child friendly environment with the safety of a secure access system and fully trained paediatric nurses who are available to carry out a range of specialist investigations and procedures.
Interpreters are available to assist our overseas patients whose first language is not English.

The centre is under the direction of a senior paediatric specialist and the team of paediatric consultants and paediatric surgeons is drawn from London's leading teaching hospitals. The support team includes specialist children's nurses, hospital play specialists, dieticians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and interpreters.
Outpatient and diagnostic Facilities
The centre has a dedicated outpatient area with a comprehensive range of diagnostic facilities on hand. Amongst these are two MRI scanners, one of which has an open sided feature making it more child friendly, a CT scanner, ultrasound equipment, general radiography, nuclear medicine, an angiography laboratory, audiology, neurophysiology and an on-site pathology laboratory.
Inpatient facilities
The inpatient unit comprises 14 bedrooms and a dedicated paediatric theatre which accepts patients for Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, ENT, Urology and Orthopaedic Surgery. A team of paediatric resident medical officers provide 24-hour cover. There is also a paediatric intensive care unit (PICU).
All patient areas are decorated with bright cheerful colours to encourage a child friendly and relaxed atmosphere for children, their parents and carers. Each bedroom has a TV and en-suite bathroom. Folding beds are available for one parent to stay with their child.
The paediatric unit's activity and play centre provides activities for both children and adolescents, including books, music, an Internet station, games and toys.
The centre's secure access system ensures the safety of the children at all times.
