• Fast and effective treatment for chlamydia
• Blood test for 
  • HIV 1+2 antibodies and p24 antigen, Hepatitis B antigen and Syphilis test. They will test for Hepatitis C, if requested.
• Swabs or urine tests for
  • chlamydia, gonorrhoea, mycoplasma, ureaplasma, candida (thrush), streptococci, staphylococci and haemophilus. They also examine for genital warts and test for herpes where appropriate.  Anal, rectal or oral swabs may be carried out at a small extra cost.  If requested, immediate results for chlamydia can be provided.  Urethral and vaginal screens are offered and they recommend that men do not pass urine for at least 2-3 hours prior to their appointment.  They also test for NSU (non-specific urethritis), bacterial vaginosis (BV), trichomonas and cystitis.
• Genital wart and HPV treatment
  • Genital warts in men and women can be treated with cryotherapy (freezing) and additional treatments can also be prescribed.
• HIV testing
  • HIV test results are available within 2-4 hours by phone, email or in person.  You can be tested 28 days after contact and it is recommended that retesting is done at 3 months post exposure.  
  • Instant HIV Test: We now offer the instant HIV test, results in just 60 seconds
  • The Proviral DNA PCR test for HIV-1 10-14 days after contact is also provided.  These results are available usually within 6 working days.
  • HIV test certificates can be emailed if required.  Other issues such as post exposure prophylaxis and how to deal with being HIV positive can also be discussed.  Samedaydoctor is happy to offer a fully comprehensive service to all their patients including pre-and post-testing support.
• Herpes Testing
  • They can swab lesions for herpes (HSV) virus and do blood tests to distinguish between antibodies to HSV1 and HSV2.  Advice on infectivity can be given and medication can be prescribed which may help lead to long term suppression of the virus.
• Well Man and Well Woman screening
  • Cervical smears, contraception and well woman screening is available. For men, well man screening and prostate checks as well as advice on erectile dysfunction and impotenceis offered.  Women can be screened for subtypes of HPV (human papilloma virus), and given advice on pregnancy management and fertility/infertility problems.  Semen analysis can also be carried out, for men, to determine their fertility.  DNA screening and pre pregnancy gene testing is also available for diseases such as cystic fibrosis.
