February sees the launch of Kinsure, a specialist provider of insurance policies for people living abroad and their families.Kinsure was set up as a result of the personal experience of its founder Jeremy Coll, a specialist insurance product creator, whose in-laws live in Spain.Insurance is underwritten by Brit Insurance.
There are millions of people who live, or have relatives who live abroad, and inevitably there will be times when illness, injury or death occurs. Being aware of the high costs for late availablility flights, Jeremy developed an insurance policy to cover the arrangement and costs for travel and accomodation close to the hospital.
Specialist cover is available for people who lie in the UK and have relatives that live abroad , as well as expatriates who hae made their home overseas, but still have close relatives who live in the UK.
If a Medical Emergency occurs we want to be with our loved ones as soon as possible. Flights at short notice are Expensive. There are no cheap deals. The last thing you want to worry about when a family member is taken into hospital or passes away whilst living abroad is the cost involved with travelling to be with them at short notice. If you live abroad, the same problems arise in getting back to the UK. Although in recent years airfares have become more competitive, if you want a flight almost immediately, you’ll end up paying over the odds. For an annual premium, Kinsure will pay for travel and accommodation, including transfers and taxi fares to and from the hospital.
Kinsure also professionally handles all of the bookings of these through a 24 hour 365 day call centre. The aim is to offer advice and make travel arrangements for you, so that you can be with your close relative at the earliest opportunity. If the worst happens and a close relative dies, Kinsure offers support and understanding to arrange for the return of the deceased’s body. We will also arrange and pay for flights for you to travel to the deceased’s place of residence if required. Close relatives include former husbands and wives.
