Cosmetic surgery procedures have become increasingly popular following pregnancy and many women are viewing the new year as a good time to buy themselves a fresh figure.
Women commonly choose to have tummy tucks, breast and facial surgery, and one of the most frequently requested procedures is liposuction, according to cosmetic surgeon Dr David Stoker.
The surgeon insists that, as long as the procedure is performed by an experienced, board certified cosmetic surgeon, liposuction is extremely safe and effective.
"Liposuction has the lowest complication rate of any major plastic surgery operation," he commented, adding that safety should always be the top priority for any surgeon.
Dr Stoker was recently asked to co-teach a course on liposuction for other surgeons at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons' annual meeting, which was designed to help other surgeons to consistently protect their patients, concentrating on safety, planning and artistry.
