Cosmetic dentists could soon be using a new type of brace that is largely invisible and claims to provide straight teeth in as little as a month.
The Inman Aligner brace is a spring-loaded system that takes between four and 16 weeks to correct teeth.
The only part that is visible is a clear wire, and the brace can be taken out if the wearer does not want it in for special occasions, the Daily Mail reports.
Of additional interest to consumers will be the price - at £1,500, the new brace costs less than half the price of a traditional brace.
However, the aligner will only be available from private cosmetic dentists.
Tif Qureshi, a dentist in Sidcup, Kent, told the Daily Mail that the brace would become "the treatment of choice" for many.
"There are many different types of braces on the market but most need to be kept on for at least 12 months and some take more than two years," he explained.
"The Inman Aligner is a great solution for adults who never considered braces due to the lengthy time commitment."
