Bupa North Cheshire Hospital has earned itself a place in the finals of the National Customer Service Awards, thanks to patients, consultants and staff giving it top satisfaction ratings.

Latest satisfaction scores show that 93 per cent of patients believe the service at the hospital to be "excellent" or "very good", while consultant satisfaction is currently ten per cent above the average for Bupa hospitals.

Staff satisfaction has also increased over the past four years - from 64 per cent to 71 per cent - and the Healthcare Commission has ranked the hospital among the top ten independent hospitals in the UK for meeting standards.

The hospital's general manager, Alison da Silva, commented: "First and foremost running a hospital means keeping people safe from harm and helping them to get better.

"The hospital's success is dependent on a strong and motivated management team, backed up by a dedicated set of people supporting us in the wards, in reception, and in theatres."

The 25 Bupa hospitals are due to take the name Spire Healthcare over the coming months as a result of their sale to Cinven.
