Francis Vaz: ENT surgeon, Head and Neck surgeon, London

 

Francis Vaz qualified from the University of London through The United Medical and Dental Schools of Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals in 1994. His NHS practice is based at University College London NHS Trust where he holds a full time NHS post. Francis has visited institutions around the world (USA, Europe, Australia) to broaden his experience and to bring back an international flavour to his practice.

 

Whilst an undergraduate he attained a BSc(Hons) in 1991. He qualified as a doctor (MBBS) in 1994 obtaining a distinction in Clinical Therapeutics. He passed his FRCS (Gen) and FRCS (Otol) through the Royal College of Surgeons of England whilst undertaking his Basic Surgical rotation.

 

Francis’ ENT training was in the South Thames training scheme and he rotated through Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals, The William Harvey Hospital (Ashford), The Medway Maritime Hospital and The Royal Sussex County Hospitals (Brighton). During this time he gained an excellent grounding in basic and super-specialist ENT. In his final year Francis undertook a Fellowship training year at The Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, Australia. This prestigious fellowship was a superb finish to an excellent training scheme.

 

Francis Vaz has been published widely on all aspects of ENT surgery and has contributed chapters to major ENT and General Medical textbooks. He has received prestigious awards from the Royal College of Surgeons (Lionel Colledge Fellowship) and also The British Association of Head and Neck Surgeons (BAHNO Traveling Fellowship).

 

Currently, Francis undertakes his NHS practice as an ENT/ Head and Neck Surgical Consultant at the world famous University College London Hospital. He is part of an excellent team that works well, offers a first class service to the patients they treat and is attached to a superb academic cancer institution.

 

The philosophy of his practice is to offer patients a modern, friendly approach to their ENT problems that is up to date and supported by a personal approach to care. A fully supported experience through the course of management is always offered ensuring patient satisfaction.
