Some orthopaedic surgeons specialise in disorders of the foot and ankle. The British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society, affiliated to the British Orthopaedic Association and to the European Foot and Ankle Society was founded as a result of an increasing interest in foot and ankle surgery in the UK. Most UK foot and ankle specialists will belong to this organisation.
