Mr Lawrence Freedman is a specialist orthopaedic surgeon in London with both a national and international practice. His particular expertise is knee surgery, including knee replacement operations and cartilage and cruciate ligament repair.
Mr Freedman consults and operates at the Wellington Hospital in St.John’s Wood, London, and the Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow, Middlesex. He also has clinics in the City and in West London for consultations and minor procedures such as joint injections and the application of plaster casts and splints.
Mr Freedman graduated from St.Mary’s Hospital in London in 1978 and went on to complete his orthopaedic training in Oxford and Cardiff. He was awarded an orthopaedic fellowship in Hong Kong, and in 1988 he was appointed an NHS Consultant at Northwick Park Hospital, Harrow where he continues to practise today.

His practice includes knee replacement surgery and arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery for torn cartilage and repair of cruciate ligament injuries. In cases where patients do not require surgery, Mr Freedman will work closely with physicians, physiotherapists, chiropractors, and osteopaths to ensure each individual receives the best level of care. In addition to his knee practice, Mr Freedman continues to provide a general orthopaedic service including hip replacements and he also treats children with orthopaedic conditions.
He is an assessor on the appointments commitee for the Royal College of Surgeons of England and he lectures to both the public and his medical colleagues and is the author of several scientific papers in orthopaedic journals.

Mr Freedman has a friendly and compassionate manner and each of his patients have access both to his secretary and his personal mobile phone number. Mr Freedman is also happy to communicate via e-mail and picks up his e-mails throughout each day.
